New England Wiffle Association's
Play-For-Free program

The New England Wiffle Association is looking for one team per tournament to help setup
in the morning. In exchange, that team will be able to participate in the event for free.

For the upcoming tournament in Worcester, the Play-for-Free spot is: Closed

Setup begins at 7am

Details to apply are as follows:

  • NEWA will accept one team per tournament to help setup.
The team must include a minimum of 2 players.

  • To apply, a team must register and submit payment for the event. After submitting payment, email us at staff@newazone.com to let us know you want to help setup. The specific players who will assist with setup must be indicated in the email. NEWA will accept the first team to properly complete this application process. The team will be notified via email with all related information.

  • After setup has been completed on the day of the tournament, the team's entry fee
will be returned to them in the form of a check.

Setup duties may include:

  • Carrying strike zones, batter's box mats, plates, mounds and other equipment

  • Setting up each field for proper play

  • Lining fields with striping paint

  • Other related setup duties

  • Setup typically takes approximately two hours to complete.

    Terms:

  • Setup begins at 7am. All members of the team must arrive on time.

  • If entire team has not arrived by 7:30am, payment eligibility will be reduced by 50%. If the entire team has not arrived by 8am, entire payment will be forfeited.

  • In the case that only one player from a team arrives for setup, that team will only be eligible for 1/2 of the team's entry fee.

  • To be eligible for the refund, players must arrive on time and assist with setup tasks until complete.

  • Any team that commits to the program but does not show up or is excessively late will become ineligible to participate again.

Note: NEWA will be relying on the service of the team accepted. It is extremely important the entire team arrives on time, otherwise the tournament may not be setup in time which could delay the entire day and potentially force a situation where the event can not be completed due to darkness. Any team that commits to the program but does not show up or is excessively late will become ineligible to participate in the program again.
