Ranking Calculation

Ranking points are calculated from a formula based on each team’s:

         - Playoff seeding (based on divisional record and performance)
         - Playoff record

 Teams must qualify for the playoffs to receive points. 
 In addition, each tournament has a unique set of values, based on
 the size and difficulty of the event, which are used to adjust the 
 ranking points for that tournament.  These primarily include the:

         - Number of teams qualifying for the playoffs
         - Percentage of teams qualifying for the playoffs

 Finally, ranking points are kept up-to-date by depreciating existing 
 points over time before new points are added from each event.
